Columbus Bariatric Program
Since 2004, the Weight Loss Institute has offered the highest quality patient care to patients with obesity.
This includes the most technologically advanced surgical weight loss procedures and a preoperative medically supervised weight loss program. In addition to our surgical procedures and preoperative program, Columbus Bariatrics also offers a non-surgical approach to weight loss. Led by Southern Indiana Surgery's Dr. David J. Lee and Dr. Adam A. Golas, the Weight Loss Institute of Columbus Regional Health offers a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach for qualifying patients. Specialty trained surgeons, dietitians, psychologists, nurses and a nurse practioner address each patient's individual medical, nutritional, physical and psychological needs.Phase 
- Potential patients attend a Bariatric Surgery Information Session held monthly at Southern Indiana Surgery in Columbus
- Initial patient consults will be provided by Dr. Lee or Dr. Golas at the Weight Loss Institute of Columbus Regional Health.
- Program and/or insurance required visits will be scheduled with the psychologist, nurse practitioner and dietitians at the Weight Loss Institute of Columbus Regional Health.
Phase 
- Nutritional support is available between visits in office or on our Telehealth Platform.
- Dr. Lee or Dr. Golas provides patient’s final pre-surgery visit at the Weight Loss Institute of Columbus Regional Health
Phase 
- Surgery is performed at Columbus Regional Hospital.
- Dr. Lee or Dr. Golas and team perform all follow-ups with patient at the Weight Loss Institute of Columbus Regional Health: 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 1 year, 18 months and annually thereafter.
- Communication is provided to your primary care physician of your progress toward goals.
